I work usually 16 hours a day, at a nursing home ,the stress is so bad that I can not sleep ,?

Can anyone please give me some advice on what to do so I can sleep %26 rest ?
Answer:
I know I had the same job it sucks! take unisom, or tylenolPm or tylenol simply sleep, develop a calming routine, juice and warm towels on your feet directly before bed. lavender camomine aroma therapy, herbal sleepytime teas. There is so much anxiety with your job! I have massive respect thanx for your hard work!
Stop taking so much overtime. OSHA (US) requirements limit you to no more than 16 hours a day. You can't be of any help to the patients if you don't take care of yourself. Take your regular days off and FORGET WORK for a day or two. They'll get along fine without you.
drink some water
count form 300 to 1 backwards
if you can try to get massaged, because its good for the soul
and i cant think of any more right now. sorry.
try looking up a site; they have great info for getting a good nights rest
Maybe start looking for a new job.
Ask if they can just let you work 12 hours a day at the home and then the night person can come in a do 12 as well. Then you need some time for yourself, time to relax, eat right, exercise, and then relax before bed.
I am a Nurse and it isn't good to do all the overtime.
there's some great vitamins out there that will help you sleep too. ask your pharmacist about them and try a few different ones. that many hours sure can get to you after a while. I did the 14 to 16 hrs for a while. It was just to much for my body. Hope you can find something else or a relief.
When you have difficulty to sleep, try this simple exercise. Simply lie on the bed, close your eyes and relax. As you start to relax, just observe your breathing. Breathing in and out. Lay still and observe your breathing. Start counting them (your breathing) as you slowly breathe in and breathe out again (one), breathe in and breathe out (two). do this and you'll find yourself getting more and more relax.Should your mind wonder and start thinking about other things, refocus it back to your breathing and count. Just keep counting your breathing and in no time you'll find yourself falling asleep.Give it try. I trust it will help you to sleep.
