If you work in a pharmacy and you cut yourself, do they make you buy the bandage?

Answer:
Most employers have a first aid kit. Being a pharmacy, you sould expect one there. They should provide it for you.
i would doubt it they should have a first aid kit
Sure they will
That is something you should ask where you work. Work places are supposed to have first aid kits.

If you use hand sanitizer for your hands, do you need to wash your hands after?

I went to the hospital today to visit my friend who had a heart attack. I got some hand sanitizer in the front desk and I went up to see my friend. I didn't know if I should be washing my hands or not because it felt weird and sticky. Is that how hand sanitizer is supposed to be like? When I was on my way out, someone I was talking with told me that I should put hand sanitizer on my hands again. But I really felt like I should wash my hands instead. What is the right thing to do?
Answer:
Alcohol hand sanitizer should be rubbed into your hands until it dries. You should use the hand sanitizer or wash your hands when you leave the hospital. Usually a good thing to use as you head into the hospital too so you don't accidentally bring germs to someone who is very sick. No need to wash your hands after using hand sanitizer. The only time you would really need to wash your hands instead of use hand sanitizer is if your hands were visibly soiled.
Using hand sanitizer is something you use instead of washing your hands. Personally, I think washing your hands is better, but hand sanitizers kill germs just as well. By the way, you should always clean your hands after leaving a hospital.
I've found that quite a few hand sanitizers leave that icky feeling. Purell is one of the few that doesn't seem to. You were fine after using the sanitizer, it just feels off.

If you think you have a spiked drink where does one go to get it analyzed?

Answer:
just give it to one of your homegirls and see what happens. cuz most places are not going to let you take the drink out of the club. they make you pour it out. or the next best thing is to get your own drink.
I would take it right to the police. Seeing how it is an assault or attempted rape or a crime of some sort, I would think that Grissolm would want to analyze it in the lab. Seriously, if it's a crime, use taxpayer's dollars to get it done. Go to the police.
The Police, spiking a drink a felony.
Report it to the police. They can take the sample and have it analyzed. But if it does contain contraband, you'll have to be prepared to give them the name(s) of where and who you got the drink from.
freeze it and bring to cops or get a test kid from dancesafe
if you think that the person who spiked your drink had ill intentions then take it to the police. but look around they have this thing you can by to analyze it yourself they had this thing a cocktail napkin that you would be able to spill a little of your drink on and it would tell you your drink was tampered with. i don't know if it really worked. but if you are a night club you should never leave your drink kind of not smart even if they are people you know always carry or dump out when you come back to the table or drink before you get there. I'm not condoning drinking or clubbing but if you must then use wisdom even at house party's never trust anyone. be careful with your life you only have one.
If there was a felony, like rape commited, you could take it to the police.Problem is that there's no way to certify that the "drink" wasn't altered when in your custody,it may not hold up if you take it to court.Any kind of evidence must have a secure "chain of custody",meaning it is collected and signed by the investigators, and sealed. You can call the police and report what happened, and maybe they would take the sample.Call a local lab,and find out what tests they can perform, and how much. Good luck.
like everyone says police!! but you can also get these strips... i worked in a pub an know alot of people round town an they gave me these strips to take with me.. you drop a bit of your drink on the little circles and depending on the colour it tells you if its been tampered with... great and small and handy to take out.. not sure where you can get them from but ill try find out an let you know hun. x x

If you tear your miniscus in your knee how long are you out?

i think ive torn it playing soccer. can i continue to play?
what are the symptoms?
Answer:
IN ANY CASE when theres a tear in a muscle or Ligament it will take more time for healing, just dont get used to staying off it, keeping adding pressure after you start to heal thats real important.
Stay determined to heal and for yourself to feel better, then get back out there and smoke check them kids in some soccer, but you might want to look into a brace, for a little while.
Ouch both my meniscus on my right knee was torn. You are out for a while. I had to have arthroscope to take them out.Edit-- You may have swelling, locking of the knee if any peices are floating around in there, knee giving, and pain when used. After the surgery it is much better.
Depends on how much the damage is. Small tears usually heal in about 6 weeks. Bigger tears will cause locking of your knee later on. Better get an MRI done to determine the real problem and take it from there. If you can't get an MRI done, at least see a good sports medicine doctor or orthopedic surgeon. They can advise you on what to do.
You are going to have to take a break and go see a doctor if you have one or more of these symptoms. Heat surrounding the joint, swelling around your knee, it is sore to the touch on the inside of your knee, bruising develops, it is sore to walk on. Go see a doctor if any of these are your symptoms. If it is ripped the severity of the rip determines the healing time. It can take anywhere from six weeks to three months. Good luck hope this helps.

Answer:
Ewww you mean you wouldnt dip into Dettol in between times?! I just had my tea and feel quite sick!On the real front I think tarring all with same brush shows a harsh side of your own personality and a closure of all other opinions except your own..and altho you are a meglomaniac you arent that bad really :0D
never thought of it like that, but it probably would!PML:))
I really think it would. Haha.
No because I would disinfect it each time I used it.

If you spray lavender linen spray on your pillow at night, does it help you to sleep better?

Answer:
A lot of people swear by it. I haven't really seen a difference but it is used in aroma therapy for having a calming effect .
perhaps. and it also smells good.
lavender does help people to relax.
lavender has soothing effects that may make sleep easier for some. try it and note if it works for you.
absolutely, its aroma therapy. lavender is calming
It seems to help me. I do that everynight i think i may have trouble drifting off. Works like a charm!
Yes, I find that lavendel helps me to sleep better too

If you put a safety pin in fire then water will it rust?

i was trying to experiment and see if i could make an earring with a safety pin.. ive managed to dull it but i am not sure if it's safe to put in and wear.
Answer:
If it was that easy then we all would make our own. Well I don't wear them but those that do would. Heat has nothing to do with making metal non rust. Gold and platinum are the metals best used. some others are good also.
um
You're putting the pin in fire, then quenching it in water. It sounds like maybe you're trying to temper the metal? This will make the metal harder (and more brittle), but i don't think it will change its resistance to corrosion.I assume that if it's a stainless steel safety pin, you're pretty safe (though even stainless steel can rust if neglected). If you really want that safety pin earring, maybe leave a pin soaking in water for a few weeks first. Examine the pin for brown stains. If you see any, it's probably rust.

If you no longer have your Gaul Bladder is that bad on your other organs?

Answer:
Hmm... It will affect the normal routine of the digestive system, especially the small intestines. But, it is more important to note that it will affect the metabolism of your body especially fat metabolismYou see the gall bladder majorly functions as storage of bile. This is secreted in the small intestine through the common hepatic duct during fat digestion and absorption. Bile is composed mainly of cholesterol and salts. This bile functions in emulsification of fats to be easily digested and absorbed into the small intestine. Imagine if the gall bladder is not around, your cholesterol level will be higher than normal. Also, the small intestine will have the difficulty on doing fat diegstion and absorption. Thus your feces will be oily or with fatty droplets (steattorhea)Thus, some doctors recommend the patient who undergo cholecystectomy (surgical removal of gall bladder) to limit intake of fatty foods
Your Gall Bladder is used to store bile produced by the liver and not essential. Many many americans have this removed and feel great with no diet restrictions. A very small minority will experience steatorrhea (smelly fatty poop) occasionally but then again who doesn't! It's best to have it but as long as you don't try to put down 2 big macs and a large fry then you should be OK. The effect on other organs... none.

If you live with serious chronic pain ever know anyone who acts as if you are faking or that it's no big deal?

I have a family memeber who is constantly making recomendations for employment opportunities although I am on disability and take medication daily for chronic pain. I find it to be so annoying, although lately I simply say 'Oh that sounds good. I'll look into it'... with no intentions of doing that what so ever. Still, I'm annoyed. Has anything like this happened with you?
Answer:
I have been bedridden for seventeen years from the hip injury and Fibromyalgia. The only person in my family who believed I was really sick was my father. Everyone else was convinced I was just a mental case. They never have changed their opinion in all these years. There is simply no way for anyone to understand what is going on internally with the Chronic pain body. Because you look absolutely normal, yet you feel like you will never perform normally again. No one can see what the problem is. And since it is not such a known illness such as cancer it does not get the respect that people with cancer would get. No one would question a cancer patient about his or her illness because everyone has heard of it. If you have bad days because of your illness with cancer no one would question it. I'm enclosing a letter that I have written for clients to give to their families when they have Fibromyalgia. you can take and just change the words to chronic pain. I hope this helps you deal with your family better. Letter to people that don't have Fibromyalgia (FMS) and/or MPS: Having FMS/MPS means many things change, and a lot of them are invisible. Unlike having cancer or being hurt in an accident, most people do not understand even a little about FMS/MPS and its effects, and of those that think they know, many are actually misinformed. In the spirit of informing those who wish to understand ... ... These are the things that I would like you to understand about me before you judge me...
- Please understand that being sick doesn't mean I'm not still a human
being. I have to spend most of my day in considerable pain and
exhaustion, and if you visit I probably don't seem like much fun to be
with, but I'm still me stuck inside this body. I still worry about work and my family and friends, and most of the time I'd still like to hear you talk about yours too. - Please understand the difference between "happy" and "healthy". When you've got the flu you probably feel miserable with it, but I've been sick for years. I can't be miserable all the time; in fact I work hard at not being miserable. So if you're talking to me and I sound happy, it means I'm happy. That's all. It doesn't mean that I'm not in a lot of pain, or extremely tired, or that I'm getting better, or any of those things. Please, don't say, "Oh, you're sounding better!” I am not sounding better, I am sounding happy. If you want to comment on that, you're welcome. - Please understand that being able to stand up for ten minutes, doesn't necessarily mean that I can stand up for twenty minutes, or an hour. And, just because I managed to stand up for thirty minutes yesterday doesn't mean that I can do the same today. With a lot of diseases you're either paralyzed, or you can move. With this one it gets more confusing. - Please repeat the above paragraph substituting, "sitting", "walking",
"thinking", "being sociable" and so on ... it applies to everything. That's what FMS/MPS does to you. - Please understand that FMS/MPS is variable. It's quite possible (for me, it's common) that one day I am able to walk to the park and back,
while the next day I'll have trouble getting to the kitchen. Please don't attack me when I'm ill by saying, "But you did it before!” if you want me to do something then ask if I can. In a similar vein, I may need to cancel an invitation at the last minute, if this happens please do not take it personally. - Please understand that "getting out and doing things" does not make me feel better, and can often make me seriously worse. Telling me that I need a treadmill, or that I just need to loose (or gain) weight, get this exercise machine, join this gym, try these classes... may frustrate me to tears, and is not correct... if I was capable of doing these things, don't you know that I would? I am working with my doctor and physical therapist and am already doing the exercise and diet that I am suppose to do. Another statement that hurts is, "You just need to push yourself more, exercise harder..." Obviously FMS/MPS deals directly with muscles, and because our muscles don't repair themselves the way your muscles do, this does far more damage than good and could result in recovery time in days or weeks or months from a single activity. Also, FMS/MPS may cause secondary depression (wouldn't you get depressed if you were hurting and exhausted for years on end!) but it is not created by depression. - Please understand that if I say I have to sit down/lie down/take these pills now, that I do have to do it right now - it can't be put off or forgotten just because I'm out for the day (or whatever). FMS/MPS does not forgive. - If you want to suggest a cure to me, don't. It's not because I don't
appreciate the thought, and it's not because I don't want to get well.
It's because I have had almost every single one of my friends suggest
one at one point or another. At first I tried them all, but then I realized that I was using up so much energy trying things that I was making myself sicker, not better. If there were something that cured, or even helped, all people with FMS/MPS then we'd know about it. This is not a drug-company conspiracy, there is worldwide networking (both on and off the Internet) between people with FMS/MPS, and if something worked we would KNOW. - If after reading that, you still want to suggest a cure, then do it, but don't expect me to rush out and try it. I'll take what you said and discuss it with my doctor.
In many ways I depend on you - people who are not sick - I need you to visit me when I am too sick to go out... Sometimes I need you help me with the shopping, cooking or cleaning. I may need you to take me to the doctor, or to the physical therapist. I need you on a different level too ... you're my link to the outside world... if you don't come to visit me then I might not get to see you. ... And, as much as it's possible, I need you to understand me.
Oh wow, can I relate! I'm also on disability for severe head and spinal injuries as well as MS that was brought on by the head injury. The spinal injury is also pretty severe and gets aggravated by drop foot from the MS. Thankfully, I have my solution through daily oral medication (Percocet/Oxycodone). The problem with pain from MS is that it's exacerbated due to neurology, which can't be seen, so everyone thinks you're faking it. But I was introduced to a job where I'll build my own business from home, which helps my spine. And I have physical therapy three days a week to maintain my mobility. But I understand your frustration. E-mail me if you want to talk or have any questions, okay?We Gone!
Yep. My grandmother told me I have Munchausen Syndrome and I'm a drug addict. She acts like you can just walk into a pain clinc and demand heavy narcotics and get them. I spent over a year in debiltating pain before a doctor found out what was wrong and said pain management was my only option other than a total hysterectomy that might not even help. People just don't understand that pain is not always a symptom, it's also an illness that can be as debilitating and devastating as cancer. They think you aren't sick because they can't see the pain. then when you DO get into a pain management program and get on medications that work, they treat you like a junkie because you take narcotics. Nobody realizes all we go through-- random urine tests, pill counts, opioid contracts, etc.-- just to be able to get the medication that allows us to live our lives as normally as possible. My grandmother has high blood pressure and takes pills every day to control it... why is SHE not a drug addict? It's the same deal: she has a medical condition and she takes a medication to control it. Same deal with chronic pain... but some people will always judge and never understand. Don't waste your energy worrying about it or being annoyed. People like that will never change. Just do what you're doing already and don't give it a second thought.
I know what you mean.. someone physically disabled, like missing a leg or arm,, people pity , but because I suffered head injuries and it is mostly all inside and hard to see, so, they misunderstand and even sometimes hate me for sometimes acting erratic, or just not knowing as much as they know, or without as sharp a mind. Only Nurses understand.

If you just took a really warm shower and walk outside in the cold..is that bad for you?

Answer:
actually, mild hypothermia hampers your body's ability to defend itself against common airborn pathogens. Simply spending too much time in cold weather makes you much more vulnerable to bacteria, and when you are wet you lose heat much faster due to evaporation and conduction. As your body releases heat, your white blood cells become much less effective. So while it doesn't actually make you sick, this can weaken your body's defense systems and make it easier for you to get sick.
Yes b/c warm water opens ur pores n u can get a chill. (same thing with wet hair)
it should be okay=the problems start when you are around someone who has a cold or flu
No, you might get cold. Maybe goose bumps, but it's not bad for you.
NO, no, no. I can't believe some people still believe in this crap. Some people still believe in what their ignorant mothers used to tell them as young children. Let me say this, when you swim in the sea, you go in the water and out a hundred times, do you get sick, even on the windiest day ? Think about it.
before or after you got dressed?
No, just be dressed appropriately for the weather.

If you have shoulder subluxations, how long does that take to heal?

Ive been doing physical therapy for 5 weeks now. Ive been DHing for softball, becasue i cant throw, b/c that is what causes my shoulder to sublux. How many weeks of PT should i do before throwing again? I know everyone is different, so i mean in general.
Answer:
Its minimum of 6 wks in order to strengthen your muscles to help prevent future subluxations. It is very important to note that you MUST continue with the strengthening exercises indefinitely to help prevent future injury. The strength you gain in PT will not stay if you stop doing the exercises. Also there is a chance that PT may not be the solution and you may need surgery if your shoulder is too loose.

If you have severe Migraines to the piont you can't work or are missing work can you get disability?

My mom has severe migraines to the piont that she is missing work and might lose her job but she has them like every week and if she can't work we don't know what to do. Someone suggested That she get disability. I wanted to know if you could get disability with severe migraines.
Answer:
There is a new development in migraine therapy:
http://www.neurologyreviews.com/feb04/nr...
She is prime candidate for disability, because it keeps her from being able to work. So, have your mom see her doctor, %26 tell the doctor what her plans are. Next, she needs to contact the SS office %26 ask them how to get the ball rolling, so that she can apply for disability. In some cases, it's best to hire a lawyer who specializes in disabilities. They'll go to bat for your mom. Tell your mom to keep any %26 all future paperwork that pertains to applying for disabilty, so she has a record of everything. Your mom will need records from her doctor, that deals with her migraines, etc. Social Security will also send her to a doctor or two of their own choice, but this is standard procedure, so she needs to do as they ask. It's not uncommon for your mom to be turned down for disablity, once, twice, or more, but she has to keep fighting for it until she gets it. I know of no one who gets approved the first time around, so she shouldn't get discouraged %26 that's why it'd be in her best interest to hire a lawyer to handle her case. Once your mom is approved for disabilty, she will then be able to receive Medicare %26 Medicaid. She'll also be eligible for the food card too, which looks like a credit card. She'll attend a class, showing her how the card works. It really helps to be able to buy food with that card each month. Good luck to your mom!! :)
Your mother is going to wait A LONG TIME FOR THAT SOCIAL SECURITY. I get it for hemiplegic migraines. That mimic strokes and cause paralysis on one side of my body for days at a time. I have a medi port and receive home health care. With documentation from the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, it took me 2 and 1/2 years plus intervention from my state Congress Woman to get my Social Security approved. It is statistically proven that people that apply for disability with mental issues get approved faster than those with health problems. My aunt died of cancer. She was approved 2 weeks before passing. She had waited 1 year for this approval. Also, your mother has worked, she will be paid based on her income. Social Security Disability is different from Social Security Income which is the program that also provides food stamps and other help. She most likely WILL NOT qualify for those programs. She will get a check based on what she has paid into Social Security but nothing over the Family Cap which can be found on the Social Security website. She can go to the doctor, keep all documentation but they are still going to send her to their own doctors and it is best to start out with a Social Security attorney that will request a portion of the benefit amount and not any money up front. She will only need the attorney after her initial denial. If she is denied. I wish the best.
Yes you can through Social Security. Call them and tell them you problem and ask for disability.
tell your mom to take blood pressure medication to prevent the migraines. I tried everything, but did not find relief from migraines till I started on high blood pressure medication.
Why to miss the job? We can treat it.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine %26H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk with sugar at bed time preferably or meals, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong. Source(s):

If you have inflammed hip: What do you do to help the pain(besides exercise and medicine and heat pack)?

Answer:
If it is inflammed, I don't think you should exercise that hip. Rest and cool compress would be a start. I don't think heat pad is going to help either. Want to get the inflamation down not up.
If you can stand to soak in a bath tub, get in a hot tub and add some Epsom Salts and some ginger to the water. It helps. Light a candle while you're there and listen to some good calming music. You may feel like a new woman.
ice it for 15-20 minutes, 'then' use heat. repeat as often as you like
i was told about some thing called Tp Gold here is where i got it http://www.tpgold.com hope it works for you

If you have hernia can shooting pains occur if so how serious is this?

Answer:
Why dont you ring your local hospital casualty A%26E department and ask if it is something you should be at all concerned about. OR the NHS direct 0845 46 47I have an Umbilical hernia and its often quite sore but its a dull ache sore rather than shooting pains. Though I have had shooting pain with it, but theyr rare and they only 'spasm' on and off for a minute or so and then go away, enough for me to forget them.
But If you are concerned enough about yours to put it in here then I am guessing that you have had far more pain than Im describing. And usually the casualty departments are quite good and the NHS direct are excellentEither way I think you need to contact someone, if only to be on the safe side and have your mind put at rest
i would think that if shooting pains were occuring due to a hernia, then it would be serious.
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and there are 3 types of hernia, umbilical, inguinal and hiatus. Inguinal can be very serious if not life threatening. It is treated by surgery, if it isn't treated it can strangulate and become gangrenous. Usually this type is found as a lump in the groin areagloriashealth@btinternet.com

If you have contact lens and dont have any solution can you use water ?

beauty, contact lens,
Answer:
You can if you need to but its best to use contact solution because water alone wont get rid of the dirt and protein on your contact lens nor will it disinfect them.
I've used water before, it tends to dry my eyes out, but it helps to keep the lens hydrated until you can get more solution. (get solution as soon as possible)
Water will work in a pinch, but it's not a good idea because the ph of water is not like that of tears. Water will irritate your eyes.Contact lens solution matches a person's ph and it helps keep your lens in good shape.
Yes, you can use water instead. Just remember to reduce the amount of bacteria in that water as much as possible so use very clean water. Use bottled water if it is available. I met a girl who uses saliva instead of the solution and nothing happened to her because she was used to it. However, do not take unnecessary risks. The key word here is HYGIENE
yeas with very littel amount of salt
u can use "bottled" water, but actually clear water is not actually a good choice, it'll not kill the bateria.
Do not use water, it will dry out your eyes, in some cases, the contact actually dried to the eye and had to be removed by a doctor. the best thing to do is find the Visine made especially for contacts, or go back to your doc. he may have a sample bottle

If you have a spine brace on, are you supposed to keep it on when you take a dump?

I dont know because i just got it and it's cutting my peanus off when i sit.
Answer:
yes, the spine brace is there for a very important reason. leave it on. when you sit, most people tend to slouch, and that defeats the purpose of the brace. find a way to cushion it....do you have it on properly? pad it with a washcloth, or something else to help protect your more sensitive parts, but whatever you do, leave it on until the doctor tells you that you can take it off.
Yes you should leave it on. Try putting a wash cloth under the lower edge so it doesn't dig into the skin near your penis when you sit down on the toilet.

If you have a huge knot on your foot and it hurts but you can still move your toes, is your foot broken?

It only hurts on the left side of my left foot.
Answer:
I want to tell you that if you aren't sure if it is broken, then it probably isn't. Since you can move your toes, I also want to say that you probably bruised the bone. But since I cannot see an X ray, I also want to tell you that the best way to find out is to see a doctor and an X ray- there is a possibility of a hairline fracture. Don't put all your weight on it if it hurts is my rule of thumb. Make an appointment to see a doctor ASAP, put ice on the foot that hurts, and prop it up so that the wound is above your heart. This will help with the inflammation and the pain, also take an anti-inflammatory medicine and rest.
And, please see a doctor!
Maybe. Have a Podiatrist or MD look at it. You have to use those puppies for the rest of your life.

If you have a cut inside you mouth what home remedy could you use to reduce swelling?

Answer:
rinse your mouth with salt water (yes will sting a little but just for a second) Cuts inside the mouth heal pretty quickly anyway, but once you've rinsed with salt water, put baking soda on the cut. It will heal faster.
Put ice in your mouth. It will help, also some peroxide mouth wash. Good luck!
a little ice and then use alum once it's started healing.
Those are the worst. I have a bad tendency to chew the inside of my cheek, and then I can't help but accidentally bite down on it.
Another thing I've found that helps is sucking on peppermint. It keeps me from biting, the the peppermint soothes a little.
hydrogen peroxide on a qtipsalt water
a 1/5 solution of hydrogen peroxide to water (that is one part peroxide to 5 parts water) will reduce sweeling and help fight infection. If any foreign matter gets into the cut, GENTLY brush away particles with a soft tooth brush and re rinse

If you had a bedwetting problem growing up, did you ever have a "relapse" after you had basically stopped...

...and wet the bed again, even though it was months or years after you had originally stopped?Or, once you stopped, did you completely stop for good? I was a bedwetter until I was 12 and have had this happen periodically ever since. Nothing has ever been found medically wrong with me (other than bedwetting)... basically I've just been told that the mechanism that keeps my bladder from overfilling during sleep never quite matured to the point of being completely foolproof, so that even though I'm OK on 99% of nights, it's still possible for me to have an "accident" if I'm really tired, sick, or under too much stress.Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? How do you cope with the unpredictability of the occasional "accident"... or do you just try not to worry about it? I've heard that it's more common than people would think, but am curious how common this is among people who wet the bed as kids, and what those who are affected do to cope with it.
Answer:
I wet the bed until I was about 12 or 13 too. The doctor told me that I had a small bladder and so I was unable to hold it as long. After I got older I didn't wet the bed nearly as much, but I did periodically. I got in the habit, still to this day, of going to the bathroom before I go to bed, even if I don't feel I have to. I would often have dreams where I was going to the bathroom and that was my cue, in the middle of the night, to get up and go potty. Sometimes I would wake up in time sometimes I wouldn't. It was hard for me to cope with. Especially now that I am married. In the five years I've been married I have wet the bed a couple of times. It's really, really embarrasing. But thankfully I have an understanding husband. I haven't wet the bed in about two years and that was the first time in three. I think that, unfortunately, for us with this problem it will be with us for the rest of our lives. As we get older the episodes become less and less, but there is always the chance it will happen again. You are definitely not alone in this area. I had a boyfriend with the same problem. It took me a long time to confess to my husband about this problem.
Some times when i get too drunk and pass out i piss my self, but thats about it.
Bedwetting tends to occur when you sleep too deeply to wake up when your bladder is full. There are medications that can help, but if it only happens occasionally, perhaps you could put an incontenence bedpad under your sheet in the appropriate place. You would only need to change it when you have an accident. It will protect your mattress without the need for uncomfortable plastic mattress covers. Then just clean the sheets and bedpad with a little bleach. You should be able to find bedpads at a local pharmacy or Walmart, but if not, then check out this link.

It happens all the time. It sounds like you covered the basics. Parts or body regulatory methods may not have fully developed. In some cases the relapse is caused by stress. You have control over it but whatever mental or physical stress is happening can take over the part of your mind that was controlling the problem.
Recognizing the stress and trying to control it, either through relaxation techniques such as meditation or yoga or eliminating the stressors can help if that is the problem.
As far as what else you can do. Mostly forget about it. Try adult diapers during particularly bad times. Also just make sure your bed partners knows what is going on. Mattress protection is very available. it isn't like the old noisy plastic stuff your mom used when you where 12.
Good luck

If you get shot in both kneecaps, how bad is the situation?

Answer:
Dude it's pretty alright if you consider the following malfortunes. Getting your nose ripped off with chopsticks. Having hair growing from the bottom of your feet.Getting asked to clean someone else's toilet. Tube socks.having your eyes turned backwards so you have to look at your brain all day.Getting told you are two years older than you really are. Finding out that all your cool finger grooves are just used to ID you for that liquor store you robbed last Tuesday. At 9:20 PM. And it was only $240 dollars. Paying too much for car insurance. Those are all way worse buddy.
What kind of a weird question are you asking here? Obviously the situation would be dire.
"aside from the kneecap, the stomach is the most painful place to get shot":from the Quentin Tarantino film"Resevior Dogs.
My granfather use to refer to that as kneecapping. Done with either a bullet or a bat. According to him, they would never walk right again, but i think they can rebuild knees with artificial caps now. Who knows for sure, give it a try and see how it goes.
Depends ,if it is your knee caps then it is bad, if it is someone elses knees then good

If you get in a chlorinated pool does poison ivy spread to the other pep.?

I forgot to ask but I need to know. Thanks
Answer:
Only if you still have urushiol (the chemical in the plant's sap that causes the rash) on your skin. If you've washed all the poison ivy oil off your skin then, no, other people won't get it. The fluid that oozes from the blisters does NOT spread the rash.
No. Poison ivy is passed by touching the person, the clothing or bedding etc. of the infected person when the sores are still weeping.
It does not. It can transfer from your skin to things like the inside of your shoes or sometimes your clothes because it is a light oil and mixes with the top layer of your skin cells. But you need friction from whatever you touch to transfer the poison ivy to your skin. You won't get it from pool water.
Whenever you have an infection, open cuts, or a rash like poison ivy, you should avoid pools that others are using. If only for the comfort of your friends peace of mind. Would you want to see someone with poison ivy going into your pool?
if you want to get rid of that walk around and look for a plant that grows in a bunch its short fat leafs 6/8 inches high grows in a lot of yards in the south anyway after finding the plant take the leafs and rub in your hand til it releases some sap wish i knew the name of this plant . or had a pic but it works better than anything ive ever brought at any store. oh beach will dry it up but it also burn the skin too... it will only spead to other people if they touch what you touch ... oh i went and took a pic if you really want to know how to get rid of it let me know
if you've washed off thoroughly, then there is nothing to spread. the rash keeps spreading on you because of your body's reaction to the initial exposure. i personally would not get into a chlorinated pool, or swim at all, with poison ivy because it needs to dry out. you will prolong the rash by swimming and could cause infection. i get poison ivy several times each year really bad and have had some seriously bad infections from it. i'm not being all paranoid and bossy, but i really would wait until it was clear before getting into water.
The fluid from the plant is an oil. So it could float across the top of the water.

If you dont eat enough?

I'm 14 and I was wondering, can you throw up if you dont eat enough food. Because yesterday at school I threw-up and the school sent me home and than I felt better at the end of the day and than today I felt perfect. I didnt eat that much yesterday because I didnt feel good and eating made it worse. So could that be it because I did eat yesterday but I didnt feel the best after but than it went away. And i didnt feel that great after lunch but could that just be after effects. Could it be from not eating that much or like a 24 hour thing. Because I didnt feel that good on Saturday morning when I woke up. and than it went away when I got up. oh and I'm not anorexic I'm actually a little overweight but not really.(just so that you dont think that)
what do you guys think
Answer:
What may have happened sweetie is not that you didn't eat enough, but what you ate disagreed with you. You may have an allergy to something in what you ingested.
Sounds more like you have or had a stomach bug.
It's important to eat at least 3 meals a day to stay healthy and drink plenty or water.
i think maybe you worry too much. perhaps you should just do what you should to take care of yourself and relax.i know stress has made my stomach upset before.
It's quite possible...Usually when you go a day or two without eating, the biggest thing you will feel is a sense of weakness - and sometimes hunger.Sometimes your body will get upset once you do start eating again - especially if you pig out all at once (binge). But from my experience, it usually hits you more "from the other end".

If you could remove something that got in your way what would it be?

person or object.
Answer:
Cars that cut you off on the freeway or surface streets. Cars with drivers glued to their cell phones oblivious to the drivers around them.. Cars hogging two parking spots instead of one.
object, and it would be money. not having any when you need it is a huge road block
My mean hateful, self serving, over bearing, idiot of an Aunt I got.
What about intangible objects? Like ignorance or hatred or apathy? If it has to be a tangible thing I suppose I'd pick traffic lights (only for ME, not for other people, haha!)
*** kissing people
My job. I just want to travel and see the world. But I need the money so therefore I need to work.
object
My husband
My narrow hallway in my house, it makes me claustrophobic! My boyfriend is a big guy (6'2" 250lb) and it never bother him, just me. Some mornings I get so mad when I stub my toes on the runners of the carpet, clumsy I guess. :~)
might be that tree i hit when i waz drunk..or that president that got voted in,(,Bush),,damn,,i need 2 quit drinking!
a person who is egotistical!!!
slow, obstinate people in the fast lane..LOL!
Fear of failure.
My own doubts and insecurities.
Objects seem easier to remove
It would have to be an object. By removing people then you are building a negative past and as we all know the past always comes back to haunt you.
Thank you for the opportunity.
If I could remove one thin that has been in my way a lifetime, it would be the influence of Immanuel Kant on metaphysics.if that sound abstract, remember the malign influence of German philosophy with its Freudian-postmodernist body-soul and Earth-heaven dichotomies, its rationalizing,
impractical-pragmatics and re tense at reason (rationalization) components. Without the impure critique he put onto reason, we might well have established categorizing criteria for something now, and scoffed at the idea of nameless nobodies holding positions of infallibility-pretending authority as Hollywood tsars, academic deans
financial manipulators and thieves, corporate dictators, bureaucratic "heads" and political leaders and "analysts" --instead of minds presenting bona fides and holding limited positions of influence based upon achievements.
In such a world I could seek preferment by merit; in the one poisoned by one pseudo-intellectual philosophical fraud's crimes and his followers' excuses, I cannot do so any more than anyone else can.

If you are putting ice on part of your body to numb it, is it bad to keep it on too long?

Answer:
yes, do not make direct contact with your skin, use a papertowle or something to shield the cold a little and don't leave it on more than 20minutes at a time
Well certainly, you could damage the tissue. Ever hear of frostbite?
Yes, you can actually damage your skin. No more than 15 minutes I believe is the max and don't place the ice directly on your skin.
yes as it can become attached to the skin and this can lead to the skin being broken or blistered, especially when removing it.
Yes. Use a towel to cover the ice pack or whatever it is, and contrary to what someone else said, i believe that the max is 20 min. AT A TIME. You can take a break between 'ice sessions' and use ice after a break...it depends on how numb it gets as well, because you CAN damage the skin and tissue beneath the skin, and yes, this can include frostbite.
20 min. is the longest you should go at one time.you can ice 20min once every hour though.
Yes it can cause frost bite.

If you are hit not very hard but hard enough to hurt in the nose is it normal for there to be swelling or to f

and what can i do to aide in the swelling/bump going down? thanks so much in advance.
Answer:
yes it will swell =put cold ice or a frozen bag of veggies on it to help keep swelling down

if you are at school and you are at the nurses room but the emergency exits are all blocked by steps what should u do?
Answer:
Close the doors and put folded towels at the bottom to stop smoke coming in. Stay low as smoke will rise to the ceiling first. Stay where you are until the firebrigade rescue you. The registers will be taken and they will know you are not accounted for.
You dont say if there is an emergency.. Do you need to use the emergency exits..What exactly do you mean blocked by steps..Is this a dream? I f its not an emergency and you are not in danger you should report this infringment of health and safety guidelines..What has the nurses room got to do with this..part of the dream? or are you saying you are ill...

If you are a medical doctor can you help me please?

My hand is killing me?
am 14 years old and on Monday I was playing with my friend and my right hand collided very hard several times very hard with my friends knee and knuckle. Today my hand still hurts but worse it hurts when I eat, grasp/grip somthing, push on something, wright, or basically do anything that requires hand function. I am really worried because last night I noticed a puzzling symptom near my pinky finger on the hand I can very distinctly feel my bone like it is larger than the one on the other hand. on my other hand I cant feel that bone but on my injured hand I can very distinctly feel it and when I push ont hat bone or rub, or lightly brush lughtly I get a burning sensation that gets worse the harder you push. In one spot particuarly it is especially painful near the top of my hand and that part has a bruise that covers it that is lightish, yellowish. I also have bruises on other parts of my hands but that bruise is the most distinct. Additional Details2 minutes ago
What is wrong because I don't think that there is swelling although that could be what I feel and not bone but I'm not sure could the bone itself be swelling. I'm asking becasue it hurts really bad you almost cry when you push on that spot because It hurts so bad. It also hurts worse at the end of the day from prolonged use. The only relief I seem to occasionally get is holding my hand kind of like you would hold an injured wrist but even that hurts because you press on the hurt part.
What should I have on it(such as for example:ace bandage) or what. and what can I do.
also please tell me what you think might be wrong
Answer:
sound like you have broken or badly sprained something... you should wrap it in an ace bandage and put ice on it.. and if it hurts to move it put it in a sling.. and go see the doctor to make sure.. hope you feel better!!
The best thing to do is go to the hospital and get it checked.
It sounds like if you can't play nice with your friends, you need to stay home. Being serious, you need a X-ray now. You could have a dislocation, it sounds like. It also sounds like you may have some nerve damage. This is a ER room situation. Tell your parents now.
I am not a doctor but have had many injuries to my hands ... Sounds like you have really bruised the one.. Drink LOTS of water and let your hand rest.. it is really important to do those 2 things.. the water will carry the bruise away with out making clots and the rest will allow it to heal...
Ice it and go to a doctor. Something could be broken. Then again, it might just be bruised and will be sore for a while. Either way, you should probably get it checked out. But definitely ice it.
go see doc,,,,sounds broke,,,letit go too long he'll hafta breakit %26 reset it,,,,,,doesn't hurt.they give you local anasthesia

If we work in a night shift how many hours we should sleep during the day?

and is it healthy working in night shift.......
any doctors clear my doubt or any body
Answer:
You should sleep as many hours as if you worked dayshift.About 8 hrs. ought to do.It's not unhealthy to work a nightshift. It's just a matter of becoming adjusted.
u should sleep at least ten
same as you would sleep at night 7-8 hoursI am a 9-1-1 operator/radio dispatcher 7pm to 7 am.
I work 7 days every 2 weeks (and get a three day weekend every other weekend!) sweetgo to bed at 8am - and get up 3-4 pm without an alarmbest of luck!
Why would it be unhealthy to work at night versus the day? It would take a couple of days to adjust. As for the amount to sleep in the day is the same amount of hours you would sleep if you went to bed at night. If you have problems sleeping during the day, get some dark shades for your bedroom or sleep with a sleep mask on.
at least eight hours
Does not matter if you work in nightshift, but keep the cycle continous even during your holidays. Generally a person requires 6-8 hours of sleep, 6 hours of sound sleep is sufficient. I have been working in the night shifts too.
no it is ideally never healthy to work night shifts.i am speaking this from my own experience of working as a nurse. you may sleep as many hours as is your bodily requirement.but on an average 6-7 hours seem to suffice most of us.try to darken your room and sleep in a quiet area . naps during the night are not a bad idea either. cut down on too much caffiene during the nights.

If ur over 46 do u get arthritus like imediatly?

Answer:
Not necessarily, that is something that happens if it's going to happen, and it can happen at any time. But, it could happen.
no...
I didn't.
You can get arthritus at any age, including childhood.
Arthritus usually comes on slow, a stiffness you feel now and then, mainly with the weather changes.
Pain and stiffness in any area that comes on quickly is a different problem, and you should talk to your doctor.
This is just the farthest from the truth. ANYONE, at ANY AGE can suffer from arthritis. I know a girl that is 13 years old and has chronic rheumetoid arthiritis. Regular joint arthritis is more common in older people, but if you drink your calcium, get adequate vitamin D, and your joints are rich in glucosamine you are less likely to develop at an earlier age.

If ur a teen and run alot..?

i run alot..on a tredmill and outside is that bad?in anyways??is it bad to run too much?can it stunt my growth?or anytihng?
Answer:
there is nothing wrong with exercising---running can effect your knees by wearing down the cartilage after awhile---speed walking is actually better for your joints. Your growth will not be stunted.
No but make sure youre not over stressing your body and that youre getting enough rest and nutrients. Always cool down and stretch before and AFTER, your body builds up something called lactic acid that needs to be controlled! Wear good quality shoes made for running and stay hydrated, you should be fine.
More kids should be active !!

If u have pain in ur hand and it's not a laseration or a burn , what is it?

I have pain and i kno it is not a burn or laseration. It hurts to bend. I play a lot of sports and when i play baseball i can't squeeze my baseball glove. I also don't have my full power in my swing. I hurt it playing dodgeball in school. I bend it back and i hurt a slight pop.
Answer:
it may be fractured.

If u go to sleep at 6 AM on a Saturday night, is it better to get the 8 hours of sleep, or just wake up at 11?

Answer:
6 AM would actually be Sunday morning. If it's like a one time thing or an every now and then thing, just a few hours of sleep would be fine, but if this is your regular schedule, then you need to try to get the 8 hours of sleep.
why do sleep at 6 am? go to sleep at night... not in the morning...
Wake up at 11 (if you can).
Then the next night, go to bed early. Then you can have a nice long sleep and wake up early the next morning, with your body clock back in order. :)
ahaha.
i guess it just depends on
if you have plans for that upcoming
day or not.
if you dont then sleep in or
you'll be exhausted for the rest of the day.
good luck.
:D
Your question is impossible to follow. AM means before Noon and PM from after NOON to just before Midnight. You should rephrase your question to clarify it.
How can you go to sleep at 6:00 a.m. and it is on Saturday night. Did you mean 6:00 p.m.?
im not sure about u but .. HOW CAN U GO TO BED AT 6AM AND THAT BE NIGHT. looks like someone made and error!
Get more sleep if you can, then make sure you get 8 hours the next night so you stay in you usual routine. Also, don't take a nap that day if you can help it. If you do take a nap, go to bed later.
If your were up since morning of previous day, and you have nothing important to do during Sunday, I would take not only 8 hours of sleep, I would take as much as I can possibly take because when I do things like that my body gets exhausted, and it's better to give it as much time as needed to recuperate at the time of sleep. But it's up to you. Listen to your body and soul, and they won't guide you astray :)
Sleep for eight hours. The human body has two periods of sleep, one overnight and one in the middle of the day.

If these were the only choices, would you prefer to spend your last days in a hospice or a nursing home?

Answer:
Hospice- hands down!
I am an ICU nurse. We refer patients to hospice frequently. The people who work there are so incredible. If you have %26lt; 1 year to live I HIGHLY recommend a hospice consult. They can treat you at home, in a hospice facility or even in the hospital. They are helpful even if you are still seeking treatments and therapies. They can really help in the area of pain relief and comfort. And they are really good with education and helping the families as well. I don't know why some families are so resistant to the idea of hospice, maybe they feel like they are giving up. They are the experts in comfort care though and I would want to have them involved if anyone in my family had a terminal illness.
Nursing homes... not a lot of good things to say from my perspective. Certainly not where I would want to spend my last days. They are notoriously understaffed. With the Real Nurse having so many patients they only have time to pass meds, so most of the patient care is done by someone making as little as $8 and has very little if any medical training. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are good ones out there and caring and wonderful RNs and patient techs and I know I shouldn't generalize but, when it comes to dying, hospice, hospice, hospice.
I would hav to say.a hospice because they don't treat you very well in a nursing home.
A hospice - they seem more cushy to me, and (I know this sounds weird) less hopeless. I guess it seems like they prepare you to move on to another world while nursing homes just hold you until you die.
Hospice all the way, there r trained people who r skilled in helping a person accept death whether it be family or the one who is dying. Pain medication is given as needed, enough to keep the patient on a comfortable level until the end. There is knowledgeable staff always available to answer questions that family may have. Hospice is geared for the terminally ill or dying, nursing homes r not.

If there is a white line around your lips/mouth, does it mean you're dehidrated?

thats what happened to me when i fainted today! people think it happened because i got dehydrated.
Answer:
Back in the day, I had a problem similar to this (didn't faint, just noticed chalky white stuff lining my lips). In short: yes it is a sign you're dehydrated. The long answer:You need (dependant on your physical activity level) anywhere between 5-10 glasses of fluid (of any sort, so long as it's non-alcoholic and not too sugary/salty) in order to replace what you lose through the day (via persperation, exhalation, and physical activity). The food you eat everyday provides the "missing" 4 glasses of fluid that most nutritionists add to make the "total" fluid intake requirements (because I'd rather not take the chance on someone taking my answer as the Word and end up killing themselves by literally drinking 8-10 glasses a day just to fulfill some arbitrary number). Also, you need adequate levels of electrolytes (specifically sodium and potassium) to prevent "water intoxication" (overhydration of the cells). Normally, your sodium intake is more than fulfilled by everyday, American-style eating. Potassium is best found in brocoli, bananas (for which they're famous for), and cauliflower (it's also found in other things, but it's most prevalent in those). Basically to get mine, I eat one banana a day, which fulfills most of the requirement (and in a short span too), leaving the rest for what I'd normally eat throughout the day. Now, if you're a fairly sedentary person, you can pretty much go with drinking whenever your thirsty, and having one glass of fluid with every meal. If you're physically active, go with 1 glass of fluid per hour of activity, and if you're sweating a lot, go for 1 glass every half hour. Now, the best thing to drink would be your standard milk, juice, water, and (if necessary for a sugar fix, or if you're a physically active person) sports drinks (Gatorade, et al). Of course, it's not necessary, and you can tea, coffee, and soda in moderation, sugary drinks like these have little to no nutritional benefit, and aren't worth it (because, again, dehydration can also be caused by missing some critical electrolytes).Of course, don't overuse sports drinks, as they often aren't necessary for your average healthy person. So, my advice to you: start drinking some more water/sports drinks, and try not to faint (it's a sign something very serious is wrong. You really should've went to the hospital to find out why you fainted). Now a little something I'd like to see from the public at large: I know it's going to be a very hot summer for most of us, and I think that it would be great if we could pass along this knowledge to friends and family; so that we may prevent the unnecessary deaths of people due to dehydration this summer. I find it rather sad that in the 21st century, and especially sad in the Western world, that healthy young people die from dehydration over the summer (it isn't unheard of you know. Of course, most people cover it up by calling it a "cardiac event" (caused by arrhythmia due to an unbalanced level of electrolytes) or "heat exhaustion" (another word for severe dehydration)). Also, take extra care all you elderly people. You're at a greater risk for dehydration, you know.Move into air conditioning if possible, and drink plenty of fluids. Perhaps this summer we can go through a heat wave without Brian Williams or Katie Couric telling of how many people died of the "brutal heat wave" which isn't that bad (please, temperatures in the early 90s F are nothing for me, and if Al Gore is right, pretty soon the penguins will be swimming next to us at the newly-opened water park at the South Pole anyway, so we "best get used to it").

If something like glass gets stuck in your head, what do you do?

I remember watching a family guy episode where stewey gets a big piece of glass stuck on his head. It was very funny but it got me thinking, "what do you do?" Do you pull it out immediately, wait for someone else, or wait until you get to the hospital?
Answer:
Never pull anything out of yourself that you become impaled with. For example, if you get stabbed, you should leave the knife where it is. You can cause more damage pulling it out yourself. The hospital will remove it.
What a weird question!
I would leave it in because it could of gone through a vein and it is acting as a dam if you will. If you pull it out you may bleed to death.
No. dont pull it out straight away! wait untill you get to a hospital first as if u pulled it out straight away it could lead to serious bleeding.
You aren't supposed to pull anything out, because it works like a plug, so to speak, and slows the bleeding. On the other hand, who's first reaction isn't to yank anything they've been stuck with out?

If someone threw a punch at me but missed and i threw one back and broke his eye socket, can he sue me?

Answer:
Anyone can sue you for anything. So, yes. Whether they will win or not, that is the question. As for that...Who knows?
SELF DEFENSE
yep
Yes. That's assault and battery. Find a lawyer. At the least, he can sue for damages (lost work, medical bills), and he can probably get pain and suffering too.
In short, yes.
If the damage is over $20, yes he can...I think it is also depending on what you were fighting for.
I'd agree with the first post. If there are witnesses can prove he swung first, he can sue you but hes just wasting money.
yep! You can sue for someone looking at you wrong (I'm serious here) the question here is will he win a judgment?
that would depend on how well you fight it or more precisely how your lawyer does.
if he threw the first punch i believe it can be looked at as self defense. if he threw one punch that didn't land you have to figure he is gonna throw another one. witnesses are key in these situations
you need to elaborate on this for a real answer. Are you worried more about the eye or the suit or was his eye socket weak or were u being overly punishing or were u defending yourself?
oh yeah and he can also press charges against you also !
uh huh...Only if he were to have a witness to say that you threw the FIRST punch. I say to him.."Good luck with that."
I have read through all the answers%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;My Nephew is a Police Officer, and this is mainly the thing he has to deal with.
You most definatly HAVE to have wittnesess!!Very Good Luck to You On This! 鈾?
not if u say it was self defense and ur life was in danger and u were tryin to save urself...u might need a lawyer though..and whenever in a fight, try not to get the other person blood on u..u never know what dieases they may have and try not to break ur own skin in anyway either...NO HIV CAMPAIGN '07

If someone is in critical condition at a hospitol, and can't talk, how do I become his next of kin to help?

This guy named kenny as been in our family unoffically adopted for the past 15 years. He really has no family but us. I guess he never really thought of the future, because he never tied us to him legally for emergency reasons. My grandmother is dieing of cancer, so all her children, including kenny, came to visit her. While kenny was here, he was on the roof cleaning her gutters, but he was drinking...and he fell off the roof onto concrete, was airlifted to a hosp and is bleeding in his brain in 4 spots, critical condition, bad bad situation. The doctors wont let us know whats going on with him because we are not next of kin, and we cant find ANYONE who is. His mother is alcoholic and is not involved in his life..is there anything our family can do for him? Any temporty next of kin paper we can get or anything so we can help him and support him? The doctors won't even tell us whats wrong with him..What can someone do in a situation like this?
Answer:
HIPPA at the hospital listed someone as next of kin/contact. There is no way to bypass that without a court action; see who is listed and contact them.
you dont have to talk. just be there and hold his hand and feel him and let him feel you.
That's really too bad. You should probably talk to a lawyer about it. There are legal hurdles to jump I imagine.
You need to call a LAWYER now. Anyone can be his "health care surrogate" and that's what you need to be! Call a lawyer, the might even meet you at the hospital to do the paperwork.
Hi - That is a tough one. I am an RN in a hospital and HIPAA has made it very tough, if not impossible to get around this. Unless he designated someone to have power of attorney in the event of such circumstances (which most people don't think of doing), there is really nothing that you will be able to do. You could talk to an attorney but I doubt it will get you anywhere and attorney fees are not cheap. Sorry...best of luck.

If someone is a recovering Heroine addict should the take hydrocodone?

Answer:
nope. it is advisable for the heroine addict addict to stay away from any opiates, synthetic or not.these drugs bind with the same receptors as heroine and in turn the recovering addict becomes an addict once again and must "kick" all over again.if there is a need for some heavy duty pain killers it is advisable the patient be hospitalized and monitored by heath care professionals.when a recovering drug addict has mild to moderate pain it is good to take an antiinflammitory such as aspirin, Motrin, toroidal and the like.
That's a tough one. On one hand, no. On the other - if there is pain and someone else is controlling the meds, maybe. The patient needs to be clear with their doc that they are a recovering heroin addict.
I would not. Vicodin is very addictive. There are other medications that are not so addictive. I'm a firm believer in finding the source of the pain and fixing it. If it is a back problem, there are other medications beside pain medications that can help. Do you see what I mean?
No. Avoid this type of drug.
NO! I have felt the addictive power of this drug and would strongly urge you to seek another, less addictive, alternative.

If someone has an amputation from the shoulder down is there any way that they could get a prostetic arm?

One of my friends was in a waterskiing accident and the could not save his arm and he is really devestated because he was very athletic and such and alot of people were wondering if there was any way he could get a replacment. Please help us!..
Answer:
if the joint is left then they should be able to make a useful prosthetic.
Obviously, there's no way your friend's doctor could have such information. The only reliable source of information for such a problem is ByeDr.comS. Well, It's your lucky day.The answer is:
it gets harder and harder the further up the arm the amputation takes place. However, medical technology is getting more and more clever in the ways of prosthetic development and application. Even if there is only a short section of bone left with some tatters of muscle, an upper arm can be rebuilt and normal prosthetics will be viable, but even shoulder-socket mechanisms are developing. While there is a wide degree of available options, he needs to keep in mind that even if he can't find his ideal there will be more options coming up faster and faster, and soon they will surpass normal human function.
he can ask his orthopedist.
Yes, there are several options for prosthetic limbs with artificial elbow joints. There are even models that have sensors embedded in the socket that operates a motorized joint. These sensors measure the electromotive force (emf)generated by the nerve impulses in the residual limb to operate electronic switches that control the motor in the artificial joint.I hope this is not too technical for you.

If someone has a headache on the top fo their head. is this unusual?

Answer:
It's seems rather unusual to have a headache at the top pf your head unless you sustained some sort of physical injury. If the problem persists I would call a doctor.
I hope not because it happens to me all the time. I asked my doctor once and it said it wasn't anything to worry about, so hopefully he was right.
Yes, it's unusual.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong. Source(s):
