I will be having a septoplasty the same day as class. Will I be able to attend?

The septoplasty is scheduled for noon. the class is at 5:30. I'm wondering if I'd be in any shape to attend. I'm strong and figure I'd have no trouble, and i wouldn't drive. Any experienced people? Will I have an incredible headache or something like that? How hard can sitting in a chair be?
Answer:
there is no way you are going to class. I just had this done and I slept and threw up for about two day after. I am very experienced. I just had this done and I am 13. The day you come in they stick a thin needle in your hand then a very long one that has a tube attached to it this keeps you hydrated. Then when you go into the surgery room they put the anestisia through the tube. The tube is resting on your hand and it stings badly but just cound backwards from 100 and you will be out by about 95. When you wake up you cry like crazy but it is only because your throat is swollen because I had a tube stuck down my throat but you might not. That night is horrible you are drooling like crazy. Then the next day I got my packing out. That doesn't nessissarily hurt it just feels uncomftorable. But you have to get it done. Then I had the rest of my packing taken out 3 days later. This is the one that hurts but it is over pretty quickly. It might not hurt as bad for you but I snagged a stitch so it hurt for me. Then in about two weeks you get the rubber splints taken out. Now all of the blood and mucus that is coming out is normal but it can feel uncomfortable. This feels the same as the first packing that was taken out not hurting but uncomfortable. And that is as far as I have gotten so far and I go and see my doctor in 1 month. And to answer your second question yes you will have a terrible headache when ever you go from sitting to standing I couldn't even go to the bathroom without my moms help.
I had this procedure done about 3 months ago. Your going to be so doped up on anasethia and painkiller if you go to class you will not be able to function. The pressure in your nose and upper head will be so severe you just wanna lay down and sleep for hours. It seriously was the worse pain I ever went through in my 25 years when your about 3 hours post-op. I just recommend that you dont wanna go to class and suffer...trust me..after 3 days it starts getting better and the pain decreases. YOu cant even sleep more than 3-4 hours at a time because your mouth is so dry from breathing out of your mouth and your have to maintain painkillers day around to manage pain...goodluck man.the benefits afterwards are worth it...but the first 7 days suck...you wont feel the effects until 25-30 days...Youll smell better, breathe better and taste foods like you have never before. Its worth it...but class is out of the question..
No way. I had that procedure done 5 years ago. I don't want to scare you, but it is not fun. You'll definitely be doped up for a couple of days. Plus, for the first two days they have your nose packed with cotton, and a cotton strip below your nose (it still bleeds out), so you definitely won't want to be in public. But in the end, it is all worth it. I'd talk to your professor now and let him know that you're not going to be there...even if you are pretty tough.
