IBS during pregnancy?

I have never been diagnosed with IBS, however I believe I have it. I am in the process of changing my PCP since she's an idiot. (She doesn't believe that I am pregnant...I am 25 weeks into my 4th pregnancy). I have shown signs of relatively mild IBS for years, but it was never enough to really bother me into having it checked out. My husband was diagnosed almost a year ago with severe IBS. Well, now I'm in this pregnancy with an idiot Dr. and having severe pain. There doesn't seem to be any foods that I've found to avoid, as nothing seems to make it worse. Any food makes it worse. I am drinking lots of water per my OB's orders. I'm trying to eat healthy. It has gotten to the point that I cannot care for my other children without someone else here in case I have an attack. The attacks only last about a minute, but it's crippling. At this time I do have an extrememly high stress load but I'm trying to get things to calm down. Any one have any ideas on what will help until I get a new Dr?
Answer:
i just have to know are the attacks a crippling piercing pain like severe gas bloating? if so i know Exactly what you are talking about i'd suggest beano and lay off dairy try some lactose free milk and if you get an attack i try to lay on my side in a fetal position and it usually helps
i know how horribly frustrating and debilitating it can be an no doctor can really help you they think they've seen it all and tend to not believe or just act like they don't care
well good luck
call the OB or go to the ER.
i didnt read your details, but i can tell you that it's the wrong hole.
Avoid sugar and caffeine. Add fiber to your diet slowly, but surely. %26lt;I like ground flax seed in yogurt%26gt;. Take acidophilus. Make sure that you get some extra magnesium %26lt;preferably citrate%26gt; at night. Do you have a water filter? You may want to try that, too. Good luck!IBS is no fun at all. I've been battling it for years. I have started taking Mangosteen Juice, with the rind in it, and it has helped.
The things above help ,too. Taking a walk is good too, but not too far from the plumbing for now.

I`ve got a poorly right eye. Got some grit in it this morning and it`s been giving me gyp all day.?

I`am x athleat with a failing body an a family 3 support my doctor sucks can some 1 hav online spot 4 lortab ?

I HAVE A REALLY UNCOMPATIONATE DOCTOR THAT DOES PROSCRIBE THEM TO ME BUT ONLY WITH A VISIT MONTHY AN A VERY SMALL AMOUNT, WHITCH JUST IS NOT ENOUGH 4 ME.I`AM NOW DAM JUNKY, JUST A MAN THAT PLAYED CONTACT SPORTS 4 MORE THAN HALF OF MY LIFE WITH NOTHING 2 SHOW 4 IT BUT A FAILING BODY WITH A FAMILY TO SUPPORT. I`VE TRIED AN HAVE LOST MY MONEY EACH TIME THERE`S BOUND TO BE SOME OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP ME PLEASE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE,ANDREW
Answer:
my regrets at how life has turned for you. You cannot get Loratabs online without a doctor's prescription. Maybe a different doctor would be more understanding of the pain you are going through and provide better medical treatment. It's worth a try going to a different doctor. I know how you feel about trying to make money and failing. It's happened to me and I am bedridden and have been for seventeen years. Life certainly is not easy. I wish I had A magic wand and could make your problems go away.
I am so sorry you are in pain I know what that is like my friend I have a disease that causes pain and after 4 years I finally found a doctor to prscribe me loratabs in the dosage that I need. Even though I know how bad pain can be please try to not become dependent on them. Also look under pain management in the phone book or try online you might even have to go to a doctor in another town or state I have tried that also ask a doctor for a referrel. Not to say anything against you but I think some doctors are more reluctant to prescribe pain meds that are a controlled substance because there are people that are out selling them on the street how they get them and those of us in pain cant is a big question for me.Just keep trying also you could ask for something for pain to maybe take the edge off that isn't a controlled substance. Be very thankful for family support it is very necessary during tough times God Bless
I don't recommend buying ANYTHING from an online pharmacy. It's not goverment regulated and they could poop in a capsule and tell you that it's Lortab and charge you a lot of money. You should try to find a different solution. Being on narcotics for the rest of your life is not going to improve your life. You need orthopedic surgery or long-term physical therapy to improve your quality of life coupled with a low dose of Prednisone for inflammation. If your doctor refuses to prescribe it, I'm sure they have a valid reason. Get a 2nd opinion if you're so sure your doctor is being unfair.

I would like to quit drinking alcohol. But couldn't stay away as much as I wished. Help???X!!!?

Answer:
I am no expert on the subject, but in the past I have been a VERY heavy drinker, drinking 10-15 pints of cyder every day.
I realised -like you- that drinking was no good for me, as it was destroying my life being drunk all the time.
One day I thought to myself that I DIDN'T have a drink problem, and that I had gotten myself into a routine where every day I would do the same thing.
I changed this by starting to go out every other day, say Mon, Weds, Fridays and Sundays. Yes, only three days to start but it was something. After a few weeks I cut this drinking down even further, and now after 2 years I only go out and drink once maybe twice a week. I do get blathered of course, I enjoy a drink and doubt I will ever stop. But if pushed I would and could.
Try breaking your routine, it might work. Good luck.
i to went through this when i wanted to quit drinking what i done was everytime i wanted to drink i would grab something that ws my fav drink and drink on it and then went to lollipops every time i had the urge to drink. and when i wanted something that tasted good like i was actually drinking i would go to the store and buy the bacardi mixers pina colda in the freezer section. made me think i was drinking one but with no alcohol. i know this isnt much and prolly wont help but i do wish you luck on finding something that can take your mind off of it when you do want a drink
couldn't stay away?
from the pub? have low alcohol drinks if need one - they will help you to cut down
I think drinking is just a matter of sharing, I have a problem stopping when I get started. But if I were to stop drinking...I would try to occupied my time doing something else...try exercise...gardening...watchin DVD...or even go to a brothel...
I wish I could help you, but all I can do is tell you about me. I use to drink, been in a few re-habs. They say you have to reach bottom, I don't think I had a bottom. 12 steps didn't work for me, not suposed to be religous, but everything is GOD this and GOD that, guess that's why it didn't work for me. But guess what? I don't drink anymore. BAD car wreck tn 89. They didn't think I would live. Waited 6 hours to operate. I was in the hospital 7 months. I don't drink now for fear of falling out of the wheelchair, yes wheelchair. I can't crawl, roll or anything if I get on the floor and I live alone. People are amazed how I accept being like this, to me, it's better than drinking. E-mail me if I can help you. No 12 step talk.
drink a none alcoholic such as Odoul's. It pretty much tastes the same but you don't have the mind numbing affects.
It's not going to be a snap, I quit 1000 times until the last one worked, it's been years now. The most important part is, to decide to quit, then without telling anyone chose a day in future ( a week, a month, 6 month... that will be your quiting day) you can quit or drink till that day %26 if drink then drink alot 2-3 days prior to that day, till you get sick of it, BUT... when you wake up that day, only you know that you'll not going to drink anymore (Chosing a day in future helps you to mentaly get prepard). After that day you should try anything that personaly will help you. I mean your way of quiting, try others openions but test it to find out which one is most suitable to you, lot of sacrifises you should do... Keep a safe distance from people who drink, specialy friends and family without telling them that you trying to quit, keep it a secret, you'll be stronger, scip partys, any gatherings that envolved with alcohol, plan to do somthing else %26 let them know why you can't go, keep a safe distance from ANYTHING that makes you crave alcohol ( TV, surtain music, sadness, food, games, restaurants.) just try to snap out of it, I also agree with what ~*White wrote you. Any excuses come to your mind, the answer is ALWAYS "NO", NO...NO...NO. My life has completely changed, it's like I was'nt living %26 suddenly I woke up %26 I feel I'm living now. It's hard to describe how truely happy can you be. You, my friend have already done the most difficult part. "Decide to Quit". My best wishes.
You should start exercising, running making yourself busy there are also a lot of support groups and counceling that is available.
a hobbie usually takes your mind off things
dont fight it,,, i say every week i wanna quit!! but unless its doing you serious harm then why should you. enjoy ya sen you only live once.. unless you is an alcoholic in that case sorry cant help. x x

I would like to know why it is that when i drink "RED BULL" or anyother energy drink - i fall asleep?

My husband %26 I have tried this with every energy drink %26 about 30minutes after i drink it - im fast asleep in a deep, deep sleep. Can anyone help shed some light on this? I cant find anything on the net? Thanks guys :O)
Answer:
It's called idiosyncrasy. The definition is an individual hypersensitiveness to a food or drug. Most of those energy drinks have caffeine in them and it is most likely the caffeine that you are hypersensitive to. It's the same thing with people who get hyper when the take benadryl. It's nothing to worry about, however I would go to like a health food store and ask about something all natural.
the caffiene loaded in it makes you crash shortly afterwards.
My boyfriend has this problem because of the high amount of caffeine. He has ADHD and this contributed to it. Apparently ADHD makes the body sleep and very relaxed with caffeine. Maybe this could be it??
It's got dope in it . . . NO BULL . . .
I wonder if you have ADD or ADHD. When you do, your body reacts differently to stimulants. Like how children with ADHD are basically given a form of speed and it calms them down. (My son has it, so do my husband and I) When I drink caffeine, it calms me down. I tried a Jolt back in the day and while my friends were bouncing off the walls, I was ready for a snooze. You might want to get it checked out.
It has nothing to do with the high amount of caffeine. Caffeine will not make you tired. It is because of the high amount of sugar. Look at how much sugar you are drinking. Probably the same as in a serving of soda. When you drink the sugar, your blood sugar level spikes, then it takes a drastic and very quick drop, causing you to become very tired. You'd get the same effect if you went out and ate a bunch of candy.
it also have the same effect on me, that's why i don't drink it during work time. maybe some chemical on it gives different effect on both of us.
I've heard that these energy drinks are bad for people. The reason people fall asleep is that they are full of sugar. That gives you a energy rush and then it drops you like a rock.People think that kids don't need sugar because it gets them hyper;it does, but then they fall asleep.Hope I helped.
You have been given several good suggestions. Let me add another prospective. One, if your body is conditioned to caffeine, more caffeine will not help. Two, if you are working a lot, sleeping poorly, or under a lot of stress, mild stimulants will not work.Other things to consider is you physical fitness. If you are out of shape, you can't jump start what isn't there. Do you drink plenty of water or are you a soft drink junkie? Dehydration limits the energy the body will produce.I wish you luck.
One of the tests for whether someone has ADHD is to give them a stimulant like caffeine or pseudoephedrine. If they get hyper on it then they don't have ADHD, if it has the opposite effect then they quite possibly have it. That's why people with it are given Ritalin (speed) to calm them down, when others use it for a stimulant. You might want to talk to your doctor about it.

I would like to know if anyone out there has fibromyalgia and how are you coping with it.?

I have chronic pain pretty much all through my body. I can't work anymore and sometimes I have a hard time coping when I have to realize how it has changed my life. I try to think positive but at times it gets the better of me. I am taking Zoloft for depression and it has helped. I don't sleep well at all from the pain during the night and toss and turn all night. Anyone out there have this disease and maybe can share how they cope are what they do to help there pain.
Answer:
I don't have fibromyalgia, but I have a somewhat similar disease called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I know ho much the pain can change you life. One thing that has helped me cope with my pain has been going to a pain psychologist, it has given me many skills to help cope with the pain, and some of the "teasing" that I get in school about it (I'm a high school sophomore). I also don't sleep much at night and one of the things that has helped is my doctor prescribed me a sleeping medication (which I currently don't take because my pain is somewhat under control so I just go on and off of it when my pain is better and worse) which has helped me get some sleep despite the pain. I also listen to music at night which helps me relax and get some rest. My pain management doctor has also been helpful with treatments in my pain that has been able to help me with coping, and pain management. Good luck!
YES..this is a serious disease..did you know that years ago they suggested people with fibromyalgia go to a shrienk?? they thought it was all in ones head..i too cant work anymore and had to quit 4 years ago..been to sooo many dr's and hospitals..like 36 dr's and 4 diff hospitals in the past 4 years...and the pain..OMG..well i take pain pills muscle relaxors..and all kinds of meds..yes an anti-depressants..is very hard to cope with ...but i find myself telling myself..."theres alot worse off people in the world..at least i can walk still and i can get out some ..and at least its not terminal..even tho the pain gets so intense..i make myself walk and appreciate life...for all that i use to do and how fast..and for all i still want to do...some i possibly cnat..like jump out of a plane and ride a wild bull..but oo well..i do what i can ..when i cna and i thank the GOOD LORD im alive an really not so bad off compared to others... heres a hug sweetie and God bless.i know how ya feel the pain is soo intense..and we learn to live with what we can..also i wanted to add...alot of people think were just trying to get out of workk and lazy..but its NOT so..i miss working and sure not lazy...and iw ant to tell those people ..how very real the pain and disease is!!
I do not have Fibromyalgia but I do have RA (rheumatoid arthritis). I know your pain, literally. My life was on hold till I found out what it was. I was an art student and could not do anything (ceramics, graphic design..etc) Ask to see a rheumatologist. they can treat fibro , i think. I was on 11 pills till I found a good combination.now im on 3one for inflammation, pain and one to keep the RA at bay. Now I take a lortab right before bed. But not during the day. It helps me make it through the night.
I've had Fibromyalgia for 7 years and I haven't been able to work either. It can definitely get a person down, and sometimes I have to take life one minute at a time and hope for better days. Anyway, the medicines I'm taking are:1) Celexa-- an anti-depressant, for depression and chronic pain. Works well for pain in my spine and rib cage.
2) Cyclobenzaprine -- a muscle relaxer. I have found this particular muscle relaxer helps Fibro the best when taken everyday. Helps relax muscles and relieves pain, helps with mood too. It helps me sleep. I take it only at night because it makes me tired.
3) Lyrica -- This medication came out almost 2 years ago. It's "on-label" use is for nerve pain caused by having Shingles and for diabetic neuropathy. However, it is VERY helpful for Fibromyalgia. It has helped my pain a lot and has helped with fatigue also. This medication has given me some of my life back.
4) Oxaprozin -- An anti-inflammatory. I have also found some vitamin supplements that help with pain and fatigue:1) Coenzyme A -- Helps produce energy. The least-expensive price I have found is at Vitacost.com
2) L-Carnitine -- 1000mg per day. It is an amino acid. Helps quite a bit with energy.
3) MSM -- a form of sulfur. It helps relieve pain in the ligaments and tendons in the joints. Take 1000 - 2000 mg per day
4) Grape Seed extract. Helps with joint pain.
5) L-Tyrosine -- an amino acid. Take 500 - 1000mg per day. Helps with depression. Best taken at night.
6) There are other amino acids that help with energy. You may want to read up on amino acids and decide what others you would like to try.
After a bad car accident about 3 years ago, I started all the symptoms of this. There is a book about this which I have read and has helped. It is called "Fibromylagia for Dummies" It gives a lot of good information.
I was on pain meds but they would run out in the middle of the night and I would wake up in agony. I have been on the fentanyl patch now for some time which has helped. It basically flows through the skin, so that the medication doesn't run out in the middle of me sleeping. I am not functioning very well to be honest. I have been out of work for about 3 years now, and have totally used up my savings. Now I have to go back to work, and see how long I can keep a job. I am a single mom without child support and am in excrutiating pain constantly. I have cognitive issues as well. Short term memory is a joke, etc. There are support groups and hopefully in our lifetimes they will take this seriously and find a cure. I wish you well.
I dont have Fibromyalgia, but I am a massage therapist and had a client with fibromyalgia. I had a client that would come and recieve massage from me on a weekly basis, she said it helped her tremendously. I would suggest getting massage for your disourder, as long as it is not causing pain. Massage might not take care of any of the physical symptoms of fibromyalgia, it will certainly help with the depression. Massage is very relaxing, and often cause a possitive emotional release.
I hope that I have been able to help you, even if it was only a small contribution. I hope you are able to find a healthy way of taking care of your fibromyalgia.
I have Fibromyalgia and have been bedridden for seventeen years because of it and a Hip accident. what helps me the most is getting deep tissue massage therapy. Nothing else helps me as much. I take Paxil for sleep and it works pretty good. When the pain is bad I take Valium 10mg and that helps. I take Tylenol number 3 for the pain. I take a soft gel multi vitamin, digestive enzymes, lecithin, CoQ10 in soft gel formula every day. extra vitamin C., E, selenium and zinc. This helps a lot. I've enclosed a link where you can read in detail what I recommend to help with Fibromyalgia. Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion. Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles. I find the best cream for pain is “Blue Emu,” You can read more about this cream at http://www.blue-emu.com/Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day.If you have any further questions please let me know,

I see alot of fibro patients in my massage practice. They say massage helps them cope with the issues that fibro patients deal with.I would see an alternative specialist. A naturopath or a chiropractor preferably. They both look at the source of the problem and correct it as opposed to just treating the symptoms like a traditional md does. There are some professionals that believe the root cause of fibro is a disruption in the firing pattern of the brain. And,that over stimulation can worsen it. (Like lots of noise, too bright lights, etc...) There is a chiropractor that has been doing a lot of really good work in this area. His name is Dr Mike Johnson. I am not sure where he lives ( I think Wisconsin or Minnesota) but he also has a book out. I heard him speak at a conference last year and he made more sense than anyone I have ever heard on the subject of fibromyalgia. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon!www.askdrjohnson.com

I would like to be a candy striper. Can any one tell me what kinds of things they do?

I know what it is and i know some of the things they do. I just want to know if it is right for me.
Answer:
Do most hospitals still have candy stripers? They bring flowers that have been delivered, or jobs no one else has time for, maybe emptying bed pans, trash, talking to family in the waiting room. They just help where needed in the hospital.
strippers take they clothes off and give lap dances and stuff, its good if u want to make a lot of money, they make like $500 a night. u will make lots of men happy
First of all you are going to a hospital and volunter. Then you become a candy striper. They pass out ice, pass out the meal trays, they can do just about everything except come in contact with the patient or resident.
